Gingko biloba improves blood circulation and may help remove free radicals from the blood stream. Ginseng root, on the other hand, has long been used to help the body relax and improve recovery times.

Glucosamine And Chondroitin

Glucosamine is a naturally occurring compound in the body that helps the body build cartilage. When taken with chondroitin, it shows promise for helping with several pain conditions. With pain conditions like osteoarthritis, the degradation of cartilage over time can lead to pain. The National Institutes of Health rates glucosamine as likely effective for treating osteoarthritis pain—of the knee, hip, and spine. David C. Glucosamine is often combined with chondroitin, which could have an additional benefit.”

Melatonin

What makes your body decide that it’s time to sleep? It turns out that a special hormone called melatonin is largely responsible for this process. Melatonin, a hormone produced in the pineal gland, gauges the amount of light and in that way helps regulate our circadian rhythms.

Modern life, with its artificial light sources, can sometimes trick the body during its production of melatonin. S-Adenosyl Methionine (SAMe)

St. John’s Wort

St. John’s Wort is an herb that has been used medicinally since the time of ancient Greece. According to the Mayo Clinic, there is strong scientific evidence for the use of St. John’s Wort for mild to moderate depression and good evidence for its use for somatoform mental disorders.

Willow Bark

Willow bark from specific varieties of the willow tree may prove useful for treating inflammation and pain. A 200 person study in the American Journal of Medicine tested willow bark’s effects on low back pain. Those who received high doses of the supplements had a significant decrease in back pain, with researchers noting that willow bark extract was a “useful and safe treatment for low back pain.”
