Berries contain high amounts of water, as well as good-for-you carbohydrates that will give you an energy boost after strenuous exercise. Additionally, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries all contain powerful antioxidants called polyphenols that help to reduce muscle pain.
This salsa is delicious eaten on its own or served atop grilled chicken or fish, if you want to add an extra hit of protein to your meal!
INGREDIENTS (Serves 4)
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- 1 cup halved raspberries
- ½ cup blueberries
- ¼ – ½ jalapeño pepper, diced
- 2 limes, juiced
- Chopped fresh cilantro
- (Optional) 1 teaspoon honey
- Gently mix all ingredients together. Add honey to the mix if berries require extra sweetness.
